Douglas R. York is a native Houstonian and a graduate of Spring Woods High School. Always having a keen interest in law enforcement, Douglas would earn a degree in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University, while working part-time as a jailer for the Walker County Sheriff’s Department.

After graduating college, Douglas would go on to serve nearly two decades as a police officer, first with the Huntsville Police Department and then with the Houston Police Department.

During this time, Douglas frequently found himself handling heated family disputes. It was these experiences, alongside being regularly called upon to testify, which would drive his interest in the judicial system. Douglas finally decided he could do more good as a Houston family lawyer, ultimately earning his law degree from South Texas College of Law.

Douglas began his second career as a Houston high-net-worth divorce attorney 17 years ago.
